'I'm a pregnant man': British Glamour mag features pregnant transgender cover model, author of children's book about 'The Miracle of Male Birth' - Andrew Chapados, Blaze Media
I thought about that heading after I wrote it and realized it could be taken two ways given the nonsense from Glamour magazine. I’ve studied biology and observed pregnancy and childbirth in real life, so I am fairly certain with how I got ‘here.’ How we got to having this conversation, though, is a far different matter.
We shouldn’t be having this conversation - AT ALL! I would say this is the height of stupidity, but the people who come up with this stuff always seem to outdo themselves soon after. As a woman, I find this sickening. As a scientist, I find this to be an embarrassment. As a human being, I find this terribly depressing as it does not bode well for the collective IQ of the human race.
If you honestly believe that dressing up like a man changes your genetics, you need help. She was born a woman, obviously still has all the necessary parts, and her partner is obviously a man with all the right plumbing too. Dressing like the opposite sex and taking some hormones doesn’t make anyone the opposite sex any more than dressing up like a dog makes a person a dog.
If a trans person ever stops taking those hormones, even if they have had surgery, their body’s DNA will cause their body to try to revert back to what it is supposed to be. They’ll just be a woman with a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy, which normal women sometimes have to have done for health reasons. It doesn’t change them into men because women are more than their reproductive parts and hormones, they are women right down to the genetic code in every cell of their body. You can’t change that. Same for men (and, no, you cannot lactate like a woman no matter how many hormones you pump into your body1).
No one should have to address this seriously. No one should be ridiculed or attacked for pointing out this foolishness. And real women shouldn’t be tolerating this in the least. To quote the great Obi Wan Kenobi, “Who’s more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him.”
